An hour down Highway 53 from the Range. Factory-level tooling for a foreign car, without the drive to the Twin Cities.
Auto repair for Virginia, MN drivers is a straight run down Highway 53, about an hour to 722 East Ninth Street. For anyone on the Iron Range with a BMW, Audi, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Jaguar or Land Rover, that is the nearest shop with the software those cars expect.
Range driving is hard on cars in specific ways. Long highway stretches, mining dust, gravel on the shoulders and a winter that starts early and finishes late. Underbody corrosion and suspension wear both run ahead of what the mileage suggests.
Plenty of our Range customers were making the Twin Cities drive two or three times a year for dealer service. That is a full day for an oil change. The same work happens here, documented the same way.
Salt plus a long season plus gravel. Brake lines, fuel lines and subframes all get looked at on the lift.
Bushings, links and strut mounts wear faster on Range roads than the odometer implies.
The nearest dealer is a long drive. Factory-interval maintenance done here is documented and does not affect your warranty.
We get a steady stream of cars that have already had parts fitted elsewhere. Bring the invoices.
The Range gets colder earlier. A test in September is worth more than a tow in January.
A couple of busy months each way, fall and spring. Book ahead.

Yes. For most foreign makes we are the closest shop with the right diagnostic tooling, so the drive is shorter than the alternative.
No, not for scheduled maintenance done to specification and documented, which is how we do it. Warranty repairs and recalls still go through a dealership.
